PROJECT / SUMMARY
Tooth decay is the most common chronic disease in the world. For more than a century, the default solution has been surgical: drill, fill, repeat. But a growing movement of dentists, researchers, and innovators are challenging that model. Backed by decades of evidence, a new approach is emerging — one that treats tooth decay as a disease to be managed, not a condition to be cut away. It is less invasive, more accessible, and deeply connected to overall health. Yet despite the science, it has struggled to reach the mainstream. INVASIVE: Modern Dentistry Re-Imagined follows the people driving this shift — the pioneers advancing the science, the clinicians rethinking care, and the patients whose lives are being changed. At its core, this is a story about bringing the mouth back into the body — and what becomes possible when we finally do.
